Jason has been friends with some of my family for literal decades. Everyone got lucky when he brought Mia around. When they started planning their wedding, they were hoping for a small, intimate gathering of their closest friends and family, and wanted to host everyone for an entire weekend. Mia told me the story of finding the perfect venue, which turned out to be the most stunning property  right on the Wye River in Queenstown, Maryland.


She had almost everything planned, but didn't have a photographer. There are some conflicting accounts on who recommended me to her first, but whether it was one of my siblings or one of my cousins, it doesn't matter. I somehow got lucky enough to be a part of it all.


Just to give you an idea about how lovely Mia and Jason are, every last person at their wedding also doubled as event staff. The boys moved tables and chairs all morning. The girls helped iron and steam table cloths. Mia's friend played florist. Another friend was the officiant. Every last detail was planned by Mia and Jason, and lovingly executed by those in attendance.


Mia and Jason are a gorgeous couple, and so trendy. This is another one of those weddings that stretched me creatively, and I will never be able to explain how grateful I am for that. To be part of the inspiration process, and to be given the freedom and trust to run wide open-- I'm just so thankful.

A few of my favorite things about mia and Jason's day:


  1. THE POOL,  Y'ALL. Can you imagine a better backdrop for a ceremony? Oh my gosh, I don't think I've ever had such a stunning ceremony space. And the way I was able to walk all the way around it gave me some of my favorite ceremony photo angles ever. And when they jumped in after their first dance? Take me now. This is how I go 💀
  2. Pizza for dinner. They were the best hosts! It very much had feelings of "please take what you want!" Pizza is such a comfort food, and it felt like we were all just the coziest of buddies all day (which, when your wedding has about 30 people in attendance, I guess you are!)
  3. Mia's second look. I love this trend over the past couple of years! Mia's second dress was eeeepic and really just solidified all vibes for the stormy first dance, the jumping in the pool, and the dancing in the pool house.

I wish I had more words, truly. But the photos will just have to tell the story here today. Mia and Jason, thank you thank you thank. you times infinity for welcoming me into your day. I won't ever get over your day, and it was such a privilege to be a small part of it!
